Some properties have the scope and can benefit with utilising space below ground level.
We have in the past had various projects where either an existing basement is enlarged or a new basement has been created.
Various structural design work is required with this type of project with the introduction of retaining walls below ground level, steelwork introduced to support existing floors above the new basement, drainage, waterproofing and tanking of the new rooms that are created.
These photographs show a new basement giving the existing accommodation a new larger lounge/playroom, a plant room, utility, shower room and bedroom. The addition of these rooms has allowed this property to benefit from a complete new floor being added to the house.
